Add to CompareThe miPASS Bio Series range offers the ultimate security by combining leading edge fingerprint scanning technology and encryption for secure user verification and authentication, limiting exposure through lost or stolen access cards.Card holder's access control data and fingerprint template is encoded directly into the memory chip of the miPASS card, which is secured with encryption keys protecting the card holder's information from being compromised. The Bio Series reads the cardholder's data from the memory chip of a miPASS card and only transmits to a door controller once a valid finger has been presented. Authentication is performed locally within the Bio Series reader and does not require reference to a centralised database, thus improving performance by minimising verifi cation time and eliminating privacy concerns. The 1:1 matching method eliminates False Acceptance Rates (F.A.R) normally prone to 1:N (1 to many) systems. Ideal for new site installations or security enhancements of any existing access control systems using Mifare, `Swipe' or `Prox' (125 KHz) card and reader technologies, the Bio Series offers a cost-effective solution for high security requirements.
Add to CompareEverswitch access control keypads utilise Baran Advanced Technologies patented Piezo technology, constructed of a single piece of anodised aluminium. The keypads are sealed to IP68, against environmental conditions. The legend is anodised into the aluminium and will never wear off. These units are suitable for temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +120°C and withstand humidity up to 100% (actually, they even work when submerged). The Everswitch keypad was tested in excess of 50 million cycles. In addition, the Everswitch access control door unit, which includes PIN/PROX/MAGNETIC reader, was approved by a leading oil producer as the "End of line unit" for their peripheral security systems in refineries worldwide. These ratings are the guarantee to Everswitch quality assurance - furthermore, the Everswitch products are backed by a 5-year unprecedented performance guarantee. Everswitch access control keypads with Piezo technology The Everswitch line of access control keypads are widely used and approved by various governmental agencies. Recently, Everswitch was awarded FAA Certification for the new Cockpit Door Access Control Keypad, giving them the only certified keypad for flight deck doors in the security industry. The Cockpit Door Access Control Keypad joins Everswitch complete line of security products that includes Wiegand keypads, Prox readers and single door access systems and crosses over into a host of other industries. The Everswitch product line is CE certified MIL STD approved and manufactured under ISO 9000 - 2000 standard. Everswitch control keypads use Piezo technology, built of a single piece of aluminium. The entire keypad is filled with a rubbery potting compound that seals the unit completely against environmental conditions. The Everswitch panels are completely sealed with no gaps even for bacteria to hide. Piezo switches are constructed by attaching the piezoelectric material to the back of a metallic membrane. Pushing the membrane results in no discernable movement. And yet, pressure applied to the front of the membrane is converted into a small electric current that is used to switch a secondary circuit. Piezo switches so constructed have no moving parts, no arcing and no openings that invite wetness and dust. The design digits or letters are anodised into the aluminium and will never wear off. These units are suitable for temperatures from -40 °C to +120°C and for humidity up to 100% (actually, they even work when submerged). The Everswitch was tested in excess of 50 million cycles. These ratings are your guarantee to our quality assurance. But even more important, our products are backed by an unprecedented performance guarantee. There are no other keypads on the market that match our capabilities, approvals, specifications and performance guarantees of Everswitch!

Add to CompareAt IFSEC 2010 Borer demonstrated access control solutions, employing combined Smartcard and Biometric Authentication; with all door equipment including electric release powered over a single CAT5 cable. The combination of biometrics, secure authentication and Power over Ethernet technology provides a very high level of security together with significant lifetime cost savings when compared to alternative systems.Borer's unique smart power delivery and management system using 'Power over Ethernet' (PoE) technology delivers both substantial energy savings and a significant reduction in the cost of installation and subsequent system maintenance. Users can save in the region of £50 per year per door in energy costs alone compared to many alternative systems. In addition the delivery of both power and data over CAT5e structured cabling means that you don't need to install a mains spur at every door, saving between £200- £600 per door on a retrofit. There are also savings to be made on the cost of installation and maintenance, as there is no requirement for a door controller, power supply/battery charger or batteries local to the door.Unlike many other solutions where Biometric details are held on a central database, Borer holds these templates on the card ensuring that cardholders retain possession of their personal data at all times. On enrolment cardholder data together with PIN, biometric template(s) and a digital image are written directly to a DESFire smartcard.Up to 16 separate encrypted files containing cardholder identity, PIN, biometric template(s), digital photograph, qualifications, etc. can be written to the card's memory. The cardholder's details including biometric template are protected using 3DES or AES encryption ensuring that they cannot be compromised. The card reader supports three factor authentication using combinations of identification including card, card + PIN, card + biometric, card + PIN + biometric. When a card is presented for authentication at the reader; fingerprint template(s) are read from the card and passed to the biometric reader for comparison. Only when a cardholder's identity and the fingerprint read from their card match is access granted.
Add to CompareThe Bio-X Series Outdoor Biometric Readers. A robust, weatherproof and vandal resistant security device designed for all climatic conditionsThe miPASS BIO-X & XK Series readers offers the ultimate security by combining leadingedge fingerprint scanning technology and encryption for secure user verification and authentication, limiting exposure through lost or stolen access cards.Card holder’s access control data and fingerprint template is encoded directly into the memory chip of the miPASS card, which is secured with encryption keys protecting the card holder’s information from beingcompromised. The BIO-X & KX Series reads the cardholder’s data from the memory chip of a miPASS card and only transmits to a door controller once a valid finger has been presented. In addition to the smart card reader + fingerprint verification device, the BIO-XK is fitted with a 4 x 3 keypad and 4 programable function keys.Authentication is performed locally within the BIO-X & XK Series readers and doesn’t require reference to a centralised database. The ‘Match on Card’ method improve performance by minimising verification time and eliminating privacy concerns. Add to CompareFollowing the successful introduction of the combined biometric and smartcard reader Borer are now adding a USB connected smart card reader/writer to their family of Network ready smart card readers. Aesthetically pleasing with a sleek black, desktop wedge housing just 45 mm wide, the Fusion USB proximity card reader connects directly to a PC via the standard USB Interface. It can be used for cardholder enrolment, to write cardholder details including the Cardholder Unique Identity (CHUID), PIN and optionally biometric templates (finger-print or iris). A digital photograph of the cardholder can also be written to the card. The card reader can also be configured as read only to prevent unauthorised data being written to a card. The FUSION USB Card Reader/Writer supports industry standard (ISO 14443A and B - Mifare and DESFire, ISO 7803-4 and ISO 15693) where a card can be used for a variety of applications including access control, attendance recording, travel card and cashless vending. All data written to the card is heavily encrypted using secure 3DES or AES encryption ensuring that the data held on the card can only be accessed by authorised users. Unlike many other solutions where biometric details are held on a central database, Borer holds these templates on the card ensuring that cardholders retain possession of their personal data at all times. Because the cardholders' personal and biometric information are held on a smartcard rather than on a central database or in the reader's memory, the system can support an unlimited number of cardholders and biometric templates. The card reader firmware is field upgradeable so that new firmware can be downloaded to the reader head enabling new applications or generations of smart cards to be supported.
