The dynamic company has expanded from their London Docklands facility to a new site in Hemel Hempstead, where they offer customers the highest standards for colocation and managed hosting. They have a diverse range of clients, from government departments and large IT consultancies to multi-billion dollar global enterprises. It is essential to offer them a high level of security at Gyron's facilities.Ben Miller, Gyron's Operations Director says: "Think of us as technical landlords, some customers are hosting up to a quarter of a million websites each. They really need to be sure of how advanced our technical facilities are."Robin Balen, Gyron's Managing Director says: "In addition to ensuring all the technical aspects of our new centre are first class, we needed to ensure that our security systems are top class as well."An important part of the security offered is the access control system. Robin says: "Without access control we wouldn't have any customers."Net2 provides the flexibility needed and the audit trail that is essential for Gyron's business. Anyone visiting Gyron has to pass through stringent security. Barriers and rising bollards protect the car park, with the secure data centre guarded by a full height, bullet proof glass ‘man trap'. Users gain access using their token then, once inside, an iris recognition reader checks their credentials and performs an ultrasonic scan to ensure only one person is present, before granting access to the secure area. The iris reader is linked into the Net2 system, giving a full event log of people moving into and out of this area.

Through a firmware upgrade, the AEC panel now allows a second BUS connection adding 16 readers to the same controller, enabling each controller to support a total of 32 readers. It can now also monitor up to 32 supervised auxiliary inputs and control a maximum of 32 auxiliary relay outputs, doubling these figures as well. The new firmware v2.1.6.1 also makes it easier to seamlessly integrate access control and video surveillance for an additional layer of security. For this, the Access Easy Control System supports a maximum of 128 video channels with up to 3 channels per door. The new firmware now adds compatibility to the latest Bosch Video SDK that includes connections to Bosch 700 series DVR. This DVR is the first Bosch embedded digital recorder to offer hybrid functionality with support for 8 or 16 analogue cameras and up to 8 H.264 IP video streams. With up to 4 TB internal storage and optional RAID-4 protection, this 700 series was designed for applications that demand the highest levels of data availability. The new firmware allows customers to extend the area managed by the AEC without the need to buy additional controllers, lowering overall cost without sacrificing the system's ease of use. Being entirely web-based, the AEC can be managed locally or remotely using a standard web browser.

ISONAS Inc. will move to an open platform access control solution. ISONAS has been providing access control solutions that effortlessly integrate with many other systems including access control software. The company will now take these integrations to the next level by partnering with some of today’s leading access control software manufacturers launching the first integration in July 2016. De facto standard for access control hardware ISONAS continues to set the standard for access control and with the launch of its new hardware product line, brand new software platform and open platform philosophy; customers can be freed from proprietary, closed systems that are expensive, and provide limited solutions. “Customers want the benefits that only our Pure IP hardware can provide, a simple and cost effective solution. With our commitment to an open platform, customers will have choice in their software solutions and whether that’s our new Pure Access cloud based solution or one of our integration partners, they win. This puts ISONAS hardware in the position to become the de facto standard for access control hardware in the industry,” states Rob Mossman, CEO of ISONAS. The simple topology of a Pure IP solution - an ISONAS reader-controller and a CAT 5 for power and data - allow flexibility that panel or IP-enabled panel systems cannot. The open platform enables customers to fully customise a security solution with access control software integrations or even video management systems. Pure IP access control enables customers to do things they never thought possible. Whether used as a standalone product or with the Pure Access software, the new ISONAS Pure IP hardware platform, with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) capability, delivers an entirely revamped aesthetic and forward functionality that increases flexibility for the customer in how and where their access control is installed. The ISONAS reader-controller will continue to be an all in one device and lead the industry in reader and controller technology.
