The National Stadium in Beijing, also known as the 'Bird's Nest', is equipped with 138 Kaba turnstilesOn 08.08.08, the Olympic flame will be lit in Beijing's National Stadium, known as the "Bird's Nest".  The expected arrival of 91,000 spectators will be regulated and controlled by 138 Kaba turnstiles.  Kaba won this prestigious contract in the face of tough international competition.

When the Summer Olympics are opened in the People's Republic of China on 8 August 2008, Kaba will be at the party.  The National Stadium, popularly known as the "Bird's Nest", is equipped with 138 Kaba Gallenschütz turnstiles.  They have been installed at each of the 12 entrances in order to ensure that the arrival into the stadium of up to 91,000 spectators at a time is controlled and safe, but still quick. 

Xue Yong, project manager at construction firm CITIC International Contracting Inc. fills us in: "We decided on Kaba because of the high security and functionality and the reliable service they offer.  We are very pleased with our choice and with the support we have received in every phase of the project."

During the Olympic Games from 8 to 24 August, the National Stadium, designed by Swiss star architects Herzog & de Meuron, will host the athletics competitions, the final of the football tournament as well as the opening and closing ceremonies.
