The SECURITY 2008 global fair will present itself as the driving force behind and the hub of the security and fire protection sectors.
On October 7-10 this year, the leading international fair will be the meeting place of the security experts from all over the world. Over 1,100 exhibitors from around 50 nations are expected to come to Messe Essen in order to show their innovations in the products and services fields. They will offer a multifaceted programme in all the areas of prevention for crime and fire fighting. With a special event, SECURITY will be devoted to the special main subject of IT security. Fire protection which will now be presented in a concentrated and more diverse form will become an even greater focus of attention. Around 40,000 security experts from about 80 nations are expected at Messe Essen for SECURITY 2008.
Comprehensive range of security technology and concepts on offer
The products displayed by the exhibitors will include control and surveillance equipment, fire alarm equipment, close-combat protection, crime detection technology, possibilities of installation-technology and constructional fire protection as well as service and protective clothing. In addition to the refined security concepts, SECURITY will also focus on important subjects for the utilisation of security technology in the commercial sector. These will include the field of "Security over IP", the integration of the classical security technology into in-house computer networks or the diverse applications of the RFID technology, from product to person identification with regard to the security of goods and inventory and to admission control.
Biometric methods are also being used to an increasing extent, not only for passports and visas. Moreover, the fair will offer an extensive range of technically sophisticated products in danger alarm technology as well as in mechatronic security, particularly in locking technology.
New: one complete hall for fire protection
For the first time, suppliers in the security segment of fire protection will have an independent exhibition area in a fair hall completely reserved for them. With the title "Fire Prevention", Hall 12 will be the meeting place of the fire protection sector. The partner of the fair will be Bundesverband Technischer Brandschutz (bvfa - the "Federal Association for Technical Fire Protection") with which the innovative exhibition concept was developed.
The range offered by the exhibitors will be supplemented not only by the cooperative booth of bvfa and the cooperative booth of Feuerwehr Essen (the "Essen Fire Service") in cooperation with Werkfeuerwehrverband Deutschland (the "Works Fire Service Association of Germany") but also by a lecture forum in the hall. They will be devoted to installation-technology, constructional and mobile fire protection.
"IT security theme park"
IT Security - the people responsible for corporate security are dealing with this subject to an increasing extent. How to put a stop to hacker attacks, data theft and virus infections - the "IT Security Theme Park" in Hall 4, organised by Verlag SecuMedia, will give answers and will introduce solutions. The product presentations of the exhibitors will be supplemented by brief lectures, live demonstrations and discussion circles.
Presentation stages in Halls 4 and 12 - Lectures online as well
The open forums will be highlights once again. At SECURITY 2008, the presentation stages will be located in Halls 4 and 12. In prestigious areas, exhibitors will, in lectures, have the possibility of explaining to the public the latest information and subjects about various security questions. The lectures will be recorded on video and will be placed in the Internet with corresponding additional information. This virtual presence will remain retrievable there on line until the next SECURITY.
Specialist conference for security experts
The series of events entitled "Security in Dialogue" on October 6-8 will provide information about topical subjects in the security sector. The lectures at the specialist congress will have a different main focal point every day. The subject on October 6 will relate to "Security Risks Versus Company Success". The speakers on the opening day, October 7, will devote themselves to civil security research. The congress on October 8 will revolve around security in small and medium-sized enterprises with the question: "The Most Important Minor Matter in the World!?"
SECURITY 2008 will be open from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. from Tuesday, October 7 to Thursday, October 9 and from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on Friday, October 10.
