Trevor Leisk (AMS Australia) got ringing endorsement for secure access hatch at IFSEC 2009 |
A new way to think about secure access hatches, the MAP is designed to combine total security with a visually unobtrusive appearance. Mountable on floor, wall, or ceiling, the MAP boasts a sleek flush finish, concealed fixing, and a minimal 0.3mm hatch gap - designed to prevent even the smallest of covert cameras from gaining access to top-secret installations.
The MAP includes an AMS MSB62-10 microswitch box and a Lockwood 35791 deadlock. The MSB62-10 can indicate to security officers not only that the hatch is closed, but that it is also securely locked. An alarm will sound - and be visible - if the MAP is opened when unauthorised. Alternatively, it can also be supplied as a non-monitored panel if required.
During installation, balanced gas struts support the door so that it cannot swing loose and impact on personnel - a potentially life-saving innovation, given that the MAP will often be used in elevated and hard-to-access locations.
Already specified in many high-security applications by leading security consultants, the MAP has received endorsements from security installers such as Manteena, an Australian construction firm, which installed the Panel as part of a secure international installation.
"Manteena is using AMS Australia's monitored access panels on several of our secure installations. We have found that the MAP with its range of unique features and safety functions, is the only product that meets our security needs. It is well designed which makes installation easy. The finished product is simple to operate, aesthetically pleasing and satisfies our client's needs," comments Kevin Ford, Security Division Site Supervisor at Manteena. "These included its 3mm steel construction, ‘tamper-evident' finish, its integrated SCEC-approved locking and alarm monitoring, its straightforward installation and its aesthetically pleasing appearance. I would highly recommend these products for use in the future."
AMS Australia Managing Director Trevor Leisk adds: "Our MAP aroused a lot of interest when we showed it at IFSEC for the first time last year. Twelve months on and, as the Manteena endorsement shows, the product has more than proved itself in the field - not just from a secured facility perspective, but also for practical benefits it offers to system installers and inspectors. We enjoyed a very successful response from visitors to IFSEC from the leading security community in Birmingham from 11-14 May."
