MOBOTIX prepares to dominate IP security solutions with new products and foray into new market segments
SourceSecurity.com attended the recent analyst briefing hosted by Mobotix AG at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel in Heathrow. Chief Sales Officer Dr. Magnus Ekerot, Project Manager Jorg Steuerwald, UK and Ireland Business Development Director Mike Lewis and International Marketing Director Peter McKee were on hand to present an overall view of MOBOTIX's focus for 2011 and highlight the company's successes to date.
Dr. Ekerot expressed that the company was doing "very well" and had very little in the way of obstacles to its potential growth. With MOBOTIX now producing between 8,000 to 10,000 products a week, he felt that the company would now have to fine tune its operations and support divisions to deal with the volume of demand.
Dr. Ekerot predicted that the well-received Q24 hemispheric high-resolution camera would become one of MOBOTIX's best-selling products going forward. He said that MOBOTIX's established decentralised concept could enable partners to enter new areas such as the building automation and industrial markets where analogue security products still dominated. The introduction of their new T24 hemispheric IP video door station would prove to be a great product for the residential sector as it was designed to be easily installed with such functionality as; an integrated message functional, all-around view with no blind spots and it is based on the international video telephony standard VoIP/SIP.
Mike Lewis mentioned that MOBOTIX's innovative software primarily drove its products, as this was the key to MOBOTIX's success in bringing solutions to customers that were "fit for purpose". He also mentioned that he was working closely with the Electrical Contractors' Association to introduce the electrical community to the benefits of the MOBOTIX product portfolio.
Dr. Ekerot was eager to reinforce MOBOTIX's unique approach to creating and marketing its products. He asserted that MOBOTIX would not change its fundamental philosophy just to be one of the crowd: "We are not a Me2 company," said Dr. Ekerot.
Going forward, MOBOTIX is dedicated to pursuing the approach that has made them a leading IP solutions provider which includes listening to the market, offering customers bespoke solutions and educating the industry on the cost-saving and long-term benefits of IP technology. Dr. Ekerot said: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
