Six members from the Royal Marines prepared a three course Indian meal for the guests at the fundraising event |
Octavian Security got back into its familiar role of guarding the armed forces, as its officers provided the door security for the high profile 40 Commando Royal Marines fundraising event at the Curry Lounge restaurant in Nottingham.
Raising money for the Royal Marines Benevolent Fund, six members of 40 Commando took control of the restaurant for the evening to cook a traditional Indian three-course meal for around 100 invited guests, including sports stars and leading business figures. "There was a huge responsibility placed on Octavian's officers for this event," explains Arfan Razak, the owner of the Curry Lounge. "The event was pre-publicised in the national press and so the officers had to ensure the security of the prestigious guests and the various military personnel who attended. They carried out the job perfectly, providing a warm welcome for all the guests and complete peace of mind for us, the organisers."
On the evening the Marines, who were fresh back from active service in Afghanistan, raised over £6,000 to help their injured colleagues and their families.
