Ultra Electronics Card Systems recently announced that the Prima 4 reverse-transfer printer from its Magicard series of ID card printers has successfully completed the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Evaluation Program for certification of the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201 card printer specification.

As a result the Prima 4 has been added to the GSA Approved Product List (APL) for the FIPS 201 Specification.

The Prima 4 reinforces secure card issuance with a combination of inline and post-printing options. Ultra-Violet images or text, printed inline, can be augmented with over-laminates for both added durability and security – including standard and customised holographic options. Magnetic stripe and a range of smart card encoding options are supported.
