ASSA ABLOY's Global Technologies Division (GTD) has announced the departure of its CEO, Joe Grillo, who also serves as Executive Vice President of Swedish parent ASSA ABLOY, AB.
"The time is right for me to step down and search out new challenges," said Joe Grillo.
"Since its formation in 2003, I have had the pleasure of watching GTD grow and mature. I'm proud of the achievements made by the excellent management team and employees at all three business units making up the Division, which includes HID, Hospitality, and Identification."
Joe is probably best known as one of the founders and long time president of HID, by far the global industry leader in electronic access control. He helped lead the effort to sell the company in 2000, which was then acquired by ASSA ABLOY. Joe went on to form the Identification Technologies business unit for ASSA ABLOY before being named to head up GTD in 2003.
"ASSA ABLOY is a great company and I am appreciative of the years spent working there," said Joe. "I will really miss all of my former colleagues, especially those close friends at HID that I worked closely with since 1993."
Johan Molin, CEO of parent ASSA ABLOY, AB, will take over management of GTD for a transition period until a permanent successor is named.
