Security industry businesses benefit from BSIA’s Employment Law and Health and Safety seminar
The seminar was vital to proprietors running businesses in the security industry
For the second time the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has hosted its popular Employment Law and Health and Safety seminar designed specifically for businesses operating in the security industry.

Organised in partnership with Citation, one of the UK's leading providers of Health and Safety and Employment Law advice, this essential seminar took place to guide companies through the key issues of UK Employment Law and Health and Safety, offering delegates practical advice and discussing the processes involved in making the laws an integral part of management politics. Experts from Citation were on hand throughout the day to alert delegates to the pitfalls of the law, the penalties for non-compliance and to provide solutions to help businesses stay competitive and compliant.

Daren Wood, Northern Regional General Manager for the BSIA, comments: "This seminar was vital to proprietors running businesses in the security industry and provided a wide range of useful information on issues that they cannot afford to ignore. Topics covered included relevant legislation and the latest changes in the law as well as the challenge of establishing or updating HR policies, all of which can be complicated areas for any organisation."

"Excellent presentations were delivered by Citation about Employment Law, which included the 2009 legislative changes and the implications of recent European Court decisions with regard to employee sickness and holidays, as well as Health and Safety Law, which focused on Workplace Risk Assessments."

"Addressing these issues correctly is vital to the success of any business and this well-attended event ensured that delegates were brought up-to-date with the laws that affect their day-to-day activities."
