With the FO400A window handle lock, security specialist ABUS adds a VdS-approved lock with integrated alarm to its range. These products bridge the gap between purely mechanical locks and locks which can be integrated into alarm systems. This window lock has two functions: while the lock provides effective mechanical resistance against intruders, the 110 dBA signal from the integrated alarm function scares away potential intruders.

Intruder-resistant locks form the basis for effective window locking, with one or more products on both the locking side and the hinge side according to the window height. The locks installed on the locking side are also suitable for use as child locks, as they provide the ideal control for whether children can and should open the window and where they can do so. The FO400A window handle lock is an especially elegant lock for the locking side. The claw-like and adjustable steel bolts provide a pressure resistance of over one tonne for maximum security for windows that open inwards. Installed in place of the window handle, the FO400A allows for secure and convenient locking via the handle. Total locking via the pressure cylinder can be unlocked again with a key. The pressure cylinder is also used to arm and disarm the integrated alarm module. In addition to mechanical protection, the FO400A window handle lock also provides an intelligent integrated alarm function. This function is based on special ABUS magnetic field sensors (patent pending) which continuously monitor the window electronically and trigger an alarm if an intrusion is detected due to an attempt to lift the handle. The integrated siren in the lock emits a 110 dBA signal to scare intruders away. The alarm function is supplied power via two conventional AAA batteries.
