Paxton Access, the UK's leading manufacturer of access control, has announced the integration of Net2, its networked access control system, with NetVu Connected Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) from Dedicated Micros. With both companies designing intelligent reliable products with mass appeal, this integrated security platform should prove very popular with installation companies.
With the demand for integrated security becoming more apparent, the ability to locate a specific event, authorised or otherwise (alarm, door forced etc), and view "what happened" from the same application is increasingly important.
While Net2 logs each access event, all associated CCTV images are saved to a NetVu Connected DVR. These images can then be viewed directly from the Net2 software simply by clicking on the camera icon next to a specific event. This seamless transition means that a customer benefits from access control and CCTV, but with only one piece of software to monitor.
Although integrated security systems are not a new phenomenon, they have tended to be the privilege of the select few. Adam Stroud, Sales and Marketing Director for Paxton Access, explains, "Our collaboration with Dedicated Micros has opened up the prospect of integrated security to a plethora of businesses; the potential is massive. This package is suitable for organisations of all sizes; say from your small medical practice, up to large factory units and office complexes!"
Adam continues, "I think the combination is so compelling that it will give installation companies a tangible advantage when submitting tenders. There's also the potential to maximise each sales lead by installing the ‘complete' package, and a genuine reason to visit existing customers with retrofit possibilities abound!"
