HID Global, the premier manufacturer of contactless access control cards and readers for the security industry, today announced that it is set to host the company's second "Be Secure" charity promotion at this year's IFSEC tradeshow in Birmingham, UK on the 8-11 of May. This promotion follows the great success achieved at the ASIS tradeshow held in 2005 in Orlando, where over 1000 attendees participated.
The promotional idea was developed to educate and inform tradeshow attendees about the variety of other applications for contactless smart cards and readers in addition to physical access control. These applications might include cashless vending, mobile identification, biometric verification and time and attendance. Together with selected HID development and distribution partners, HID will be handing out four different coloured awareness wristbands that include HID branded colours of HID blue, iCLASS green, white and black to IFSEC attendees. When all four coloured wrist bands are collected and shown to an HID representative, HID will donate money on their behalf to either National Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) or MacMillan Cancer Relief, both of which are nationally renowned charities. To further encourage participation in the promotion, HID is also providing the opportunity for participants to win one of eight iPOD Nanos.
A list of participating HID partners will be given to visitors at HID's stand K100 at the IFSEC show. In order to increase visitor awareness, employees of HID will be wearing promotional t-shirts informing the attendees of the campaign and how they are able to participate.
