ONVIF, a global standardisation initiative for IP-based physical security products, announced that it will be presenting at Intersec 2017, January 23-24, 2017, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, as part of Intersec’s Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Conference.
Internet of Things applications
Jonathan Lewit, Chair of the ONVIF Communication Committee, will be speaking on behalf of ONVIF and will present on Standards and the Dynamics of IoT in Physical Security Critical Infrastructure, a session designed to help attendees understand the role of interoperability standards such as those developed by ONVIF in the deployment of physical security infrastructure and in broader Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Lewit, who also serves as Director of Technology Leadership for Pelco by Schneider-Electric, will address how standards also can help ensure adherence to current industry cyber security measures.
Cyber security
“Cyber security, inter-disciplinary integration, and interoperability are essential to successful physical security and IoT deployments,” said Per Björkdahl, Chairman of the ONVIF Steering Committee. “Jonathan will speak to Intersec attendees about what this looks like in everyday practical terms, sharing how some of our members are using the ONVIF specification to address all three factors at once.”
Lewit will be speaking on Monday, January 23rd, at 3:15 P.M. in the Al Multaqua Ballroom at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
