Cross Point access control operated by Palm™ powered handhelds

Cross Point offers a software package for Palm Powered™ handhelds which makes it possible to program XM3 stand alone access control readers.  Users can be added or deleted simply by holding the Palm™ handheld in front of the infra red eye (IRDA) which is situated next to the XM3 reader.  Downloading events and maintaining system settings are possibilities within the standard software package called XM3 manage for Palm OS®.

A major benefit in costsaving is that you won't be needing a local area network for small access control situations, say up to 5 doors.  Using a Palm Powered™ handheld, to update your access control system is now quick, easy and cost effective and ….. on the spot!

Palm Powered™ handhelds batteries last generally at least 72 hours in comparison to a laptop battery of 3- to 4 hours and Palm Powered™ handhelds are significantly cheaper than laptops!

Recommended end-user prices should be less than Euro 1,000 per door for a complete XM3 RFID single door situation using a Palm Powered™ handheld.  Palm Powered™ handhelds can be licensed as programming units by Cross Point.
